Time to do an update on my Cody boy! Cody's now 28 months old. About a month ago, he started walking! He's amazing! What's not so amazing is he's harder now that he's walking all over the house and getting more owies :(!
He also is starting to sign more baby signs- his latest favorite is "drink." He signs it so much that I don't think he's actually thirsty once he's asked so many times! He still loves to look at books and loves dancing too. We are so proud of our little guy, we are so grateful for him in our lives. He's such a joy to have. In fact, yesterday Jeremy added at his preschool Thanksgiving party, that he was thankful for Cody :). That brought a big smile to this mommy.

Cody at 23 months
It's just four weeks until Cody turns 2! I am sad that he's growing up so fast but there are things I'd like to share about him since my last post from a few months ago! A couple of weeks ago, he just started standing up on his own in the middle of the room! I am so amazed by his strength that he's reached that milestone. His physical therapist from Kaiser said she thinks he's going to be walking any day now when I shared the news to her.
Also, Cody has added more words that he has said- "wow," "all done,""doggy", he said "read" once, and the most special one was "Amen" and he said it "AAAmen!" after our bedtime prayer Isn't that just so precious! It was clear as could be too.
I love hearing how much our friends & family truly enjoy hearing about his development & progress. Cody definitely is showing us his darling but mischievous personality :). He is so curious about things that he tries to eat plants & break our fireplace screen! When we have told him no, he thinks it's funny- he definitely tries to test his boundaries :P! He truly is a gift from God & we are so proud of how well he is doing.

the latest on Cody boy!
Cody is now almost 21 months old- he has changed since my latest post back from January! He now talks with his hands, which is really cute. I think he got that from watching Grandma :). He does say dddd, and dadada, and I've heard him say "why" a couple of weeks ago. He is a truly happy little guy. He also has officially started cruising on Easter. Before that he took a few steps holding on, but he now cruises up and down the couch! He's so mobile!
Last night, I had a moment- an emotional moment. I went rewind to two years ago being pregnant and the apprehension of not knowing the degree of Cody's diagnosis of DS. Then I felt this really grateful- happy -crying moment about how wonderful Cody's doing and progressing. I'm getting emotional now thinking about the moment I had! I would never have imagined he would be doing as well as he is. He also has an upcoming echocardiogram next week. Hopefully all will still continue to be good with his heart too. There was a little bit of fluid in his lungs that the cardiologist is monitoring, so I"m glad he will be checked out again. Thank you everyone for all the prayers you've had for Cody and continue to have. He has truly amazed us
and it's so wonderful!

Time has flown!
I can't believe my little Cody boy is almost 1 1/2 in less than one week! He has been doing the cutest thing in the past month. His infant teacher had been doing "twinkle twinkle" and opening and closing her hands, and he does it too! It was so exciting to see him do it, and when he does I will sing "twinkle twinkle little star." Cody is not standing up on his own, but he will stand for a minute or two and sit back down. Some of his friends will be walking soon, but he will not. He will do it in his own time, but sometimes this mommy beats herself up that I should encourage him more with the physical therapy exercises. But like I just said, he will when he is ready.
He is also loving eating, he rarely turns down food, he likes everything, oh except beets! Cody still loves to snuggle and I hope he always will. We love you Cody!
